Hi Everyone,
I don’t know about you, but I just love life and all its mysteries and challenges. Lately though as a Reverend, I have talked to a lot of people who are experiencing some kind of a hardship. Whether you have lost someone, or you are having work or financial issues, children problems, relationship hassles, family issues, etc., everyone needs time out to process things to be able to make the decisions that they need to make
If you feel that you are having a bit of a difficult time of things lately, then maybe you might need to give yourself some time allowance every day to be able to just sit back and relax, so you can focus and try to put things into order and not leave them in disorder. Here’s a helpful hint, just take some deep breaths, after all, breath is life. Life isn’t meant to be that difficult. Try to look at things and simplify them in a way that it will bring more joy into your life. While life is so full of many lessons, we all need time to understand and filter what we are learning.
The best way to lift your spirits when they are down is to go to the water and breathe in the fresh air and if you can, swim or paddle in the water, as this is a good cleansing on all levels, especially emotionally. If you don’t like the water, or you can’t get to it, then go to the mountains and sit on a rock or a bench and allow the freshness of nature to help clear your energies. This can help you with clarity and to release negative emotions.
If you live in the city and can’t do either, then sit somewhere outside to breathe in the air, many places have parks and gardens that you can also go to. In other words, try to get out of your everyday environment and take in nature. Corny? No! Fresh Air? Yes! This in turn helps you to settle down the mind, body and spirit.
Meditation, is the easiest thing in the world to do, it’s just that many people complicate it by thinking that they have to have an epiphany of some sort. Maybe you don’t have time (of course you do, just give it to yourself, you deserve it), or the one I hear a lot is, “I can’t Meditate”. Of course you can, you have done it before. There might have been a time when you have tried to read a book and have to go back several times to re-read a page, because you “zoned out”. A friend might be talking to you and they say, “hello” are you listening, nope you went into lala land. What about when you start day dreaming at work or watching sport?
This is when you’re slowing down your brain wave patterns. Meditation is easy to do, join a class, or buy a guided meditation tape, read up on it, but most of all, do it the easy way. Sit outside or find a peaceful place, if you can’t because of weather, or you’re housebound etc., then find a quite place at home that is peaceful. If you can’t, then make one. Take a glass of water with you, try to wear loose clothing, so you don’t block your energies and take the phone off the hook. Then, make sure that you won’t be disturbed for at least 10 -15 minutes, this is a good start.
Now, take ten deep breaths and count them, in one and out two, until you get to twenty. There you go, relax. There’s the start to Meditating, it’s that easy. The first time you do it, it might be for only half a minute, but you will still have slowed things down, it’s a good beginning. When you do it everyday, always count your breaths first and then try to just stay in that moment of relaxing and clearing. Whenever you feel stressed or unsettled, this very simple exercise is brilliant. It settles the mind, body and spirit. When you do it for the first time, you have started your path to meditate, as you have to relax before you can even get into a meditative state. Remember, that practice makes perfect.
Our energies are vibrating at such a quick pace currently, that we need to just stop and clear any negativity. By rushing around and not addressing issues, only slows you down and creates frustration. So, go on, put some balance back into your life by doing something for you, so you can cope with any unsettling issues that you may have right now.
Try to relax, settle and have clear thinking in a way that will help you to make better decisions and changes that you may need to make in your life. My Grandmother told me a long time ago, that if you are indecisive about anything, then say no, because it means that you don’t really want to do it at this point in time, because you are hesitating. What’s the old saying “ If in doubt do nothing”, it’s simple. We tend to complicate things by over analysing them and then we think too much. Then you can’t sleep properly, or if you do, then you just wake up tired.
Try to stay in the moment and live each day in the now. Clear your negative thoughts to help you make clear decisions. Try not to blame others for indecisions that you may be having, that can make you a victim in life and not the true victor of your own destiny.
Enjoy the simple things and bring some balance into your life. Have fun, laughter and joy and if you don’t, then what changes do you need to make in your life to create more harmony. Just remember, that for every action there is a re-action, it’s called Karma.
Enjoy your seasons in life, they may vary, but there is always light there.
Keep Smiling.
Kara
