Christmas can have many different meanings to all of us. For example, to some it is about the birth of Jesus Christ, while to others it is about partying and presents. Then there are those who go on holidays during the festivities to relax and those who come home to visit family.
The best kind of Christmas gift that anyone can give is one of caring, but the greatest gift of all is that of loving. Christmas is a good time to look at all of the blessings that you have in your life. The old saying of “there is always someone worse off then you” really has meaning at this time of year.
There are many people in all walks of life who are affected negatively at this time of year. To mention a few who may be in this category, are the homeless, the disabled both mentally and physically, the lower income families, the elderly, the sick and those who have no family. Then there are those with broken relationships and workers who have lost their jobs. The hardest one though, is if you have had the loss of a loved one. It’s often Christmas time that we miss them the most.
Christmas isn’t just about giving presents, it’s about giving love unconditionally. If we all worked towards helping our fellow human beings with simple kindness and acknowledgement that they too are just as important as anyone else, then it would be a far better world. We never know if one day we may be in a position of being alone ourselves.
So, if each of us looked after our own little corner of the world and helped one person who may need recognising and validating, not only at Christmas time but all year, then what a difference it would make.
Most times though, the people who need the most from us are right under our own nose. Is there anyone that you know of, whether it’s family, a friend, or a neighbour who will be alone at Christmas time?
If you do know of someone, then maybe you can reach out the hand of friendship and show kindness to them. This in return will make your Soul feel better for doing so.
Love is the greatest gift anyone can give. May you all have a Loving, Caring and Giving Christmas?
Kara’s Message: – Life is a gift, friendship is a choice.
